Welcome to the Dracut Police Web Page

On behalf of the Dracut Police Department, I welcome you to your police department's web site. I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit this web site.

We currently have thirty-nine officers, eight civilian Dispatchers, one Animal Control Officer, one Administrative Secretary, two maintenance/custodians, two Records Clerks and four School Crossing Guards.

As Chief of Police, I would like to encourage all residents of the Town of Dracut to visit this site often and to become involved in the wonderful community we have here in Dracut. We hope that this site will be a pleasant encounter for all who choose to navigate it. We will be providing what we think will be helpful links to areas that can provide answers to your concerns. We will also be providing links to areas that we believe share common interests with our law enforcement views.

We encourage visitors to contact us with suggestions in order that we can provide the services that the viewers request.

The Dracut Police Department will utilize this site to keep the public informed of the many interesting activities taking place within the Department and community.

Many exciting and new programs are being initiated at the Dracut Police Department. Your department now has a K-9 unit that has been specially trained in scent tracking. This will allow the department to respond to calls for service such as missing persons or for the tracking of suspects from crime scenes in a more timely order.

Your department also now has a motor-cycle unit. This unit will provide a new approach to traffic enforcement, crowd control, and other services where a smaller and a more easily maneuverable vehicle is needed.

The department has moved from our old location on Lakeview Avenue to the new state of the art location at 110 Loon Hill Road. With this new facility, we expect to better serve the citizens of this community. We again thank the community for providing us with this new state of the art facility.

Again, we wish to thank all the residents of the community for all their support.

Respectfully,

Kevin M. Richardson
Chief of Police
