Dog Licenses
The town by-laws and Massachusetts General Laws state that all dogs, age six months and over, must be licensed each year. The license period is from January 1 to December 31. Licenses can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office for $11.00. You will need to bring a copy of your dog’s current rabies certificate with you. Beginning April 1, a $10.00 late fee will be charged. Your dog must wear his tag securely attached to a collar or harness at all times when outside your home. If a license tag is lost, you may get a replacement tag from the Town Clerk for $2.00. If you have recently moved to Dracut and your dog is licensed elsewhere, please bring your license information to the Town Clerk and you will receive a Dracut dog license for a nominal fee.
Please refer to Chapter 12, Sections 2 and 4 of the town by-laws for more information on licenses and tags.
