The Dracut Police Community Policing Unit supplements our Patrol Division by providing dedicated services to the community when and where the Patrol Force is unable to. These services include presentations at the local schools, presentations to civic groups such as PTOs, Boys and Girls Scout Troops, neighborhood problems associated with traffic, neighbor problems, and special events to name just a few. The unit is manned by three police officers.
In addition to providing those activities, the unit is also actively engaged in addressing problem traffic areas in Dracut. This includes looking for solutions for dangerous conditions and improving traffic flow. Problem areas in town should be directed to the Community Policing Unit unless the problem constitutes an immediate risk to public safety which should be directed immediately to dispatch.
